Game Crashes In Manage Households
I played the sims yesterday and I had no problems at all. Then today when I went to play there was no music when loading, but it eventually loaded after 4 minutes or so, and the music appeared. Then I went into my game and then to manage households and only one was loaded and the others were loading and then it crashed. So I went in again and the same thing happened but there was music this time. I downloaded new cc just before, so I took those out and it still crashed. Then I took out all my mods, and in manage households, it worked for like 10 seconds and then crashed. NOTE that it said I had 201/200 households so I got rid of one and make it 200, but it still crashed. I'm not sure if making it 199/200 would help, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do that and save in time before it crashes. Or if that part doesn't matter. I have ALOT of sims in my game and I turned off no culling I'm pretty sure through MCC so I'm not sure if I just have too many sims, but there was no problem yesterday. I also through MCC have it where townies can get married and try for babies on their own so I've gotten a few spams saying that like 20 babies were born so I could just have too many now? And maybe another batch was born when I was away and now there's way too many? I'm not totally sure. I do have my crash file it won't let me add it to this though..? but I have no clue how to decode it. ALSO, I have all my households in one save file.. which probably isn't good. PLEASE HELP thanks
I just restarted my computer and now I can't even open the sims. It also made opening any other browser really slow, so I had to restart again.
Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
- Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
- Tray Folder
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
- Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
