I have the same problem. It is literally my save files. You really can't expect me to play for an hour and then scratch what I did everytime I want to quit and then come back. Every other file is fine in my Documents folder. HELP
@kimgetz Please try creating another clean Sims 4 folder, then copy only one save file from the old folder to the new one. Don't move anything else, and don't worry about a missing objects warning; this is just for testing. (That's also why you should copy the save, not move it—the old copy will be your backup.) Play for a little while, if you can, then save your progress, quit, reload, and see whether you can play for a little while again.

I've done this. I've tried renaming the older save files and it still crashes. I literally have to start from scratch every time.

@kimgetz Okay, try repairing the game in Origin if you haven't already. (Right-click on the Sims 4 icon in your game library and select Repair.) Then test.
If that doesn't help, again with a single save and nothing else in an otherwise clean folder, please try loading a different household and playing with them instead. One day should be more than long enough; you can fast forward if you want. Then save, quit, reload, and switch back to your original sims.
If that doesn't help either, let me know whether your computer runs Windows or macOS. This may be an issue of automatic cloud syncing (OneDrive or iCloud, respectively); you can test by disabling auto sync or turning off cloud storage entirely.

It is most definitely iCloud. It must be corrupting the file somehow. Thank you!
