Game Crashing Every 5-15 Minutes

ever since the latest update my game has been crashing between every 5-15 minutes. a good stretch, i’ll get 30 minutes. i play on a laptop and have never had this issue previously. is anyone else having this problem? it’s been happening for days.

  • Same with me. I have no mods, and my game crashes every 5 minutes. It will sit on the Main Menu for over 30 minutes, but once you load into the game its a max of 10 minutes of playtime before it crashes. It usually happens around the 5 minute mark. Even if I don't do anything after the game loads, just let the game run, it still crashes.

same..my game used to work fine but started crashing frequently after i've started playing in britchester for my university gameplay!

  • annaa2310t  Your dxdiag shows the crashes associated with high-end Intel processors that need a BIOS update, so I'm glad that worked for you too.  Disabling Turbo Boost is only necessary when the BIOS update doesn't help, and it typically does these days, so hopefully you can leave it enabled indefinitely.

tuohyblue  Is your whole computer crashing, or just Sims 4?  I ask because your dxdiag is full of BSODs, two different kinds, but it's not clear whether they're happening while you're playing.  Both BSOD codes are driver-related, but neither points to a specific misbehaving driver.

There is one error that points to the Nvidia driver, so please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

RulyMicroby Yazzynas  If you'd like help, try a clean folder, and if that doesn't work, post a dxdiag.  Please see my previous post in this thread for instructions.

I am having the same issue on my gaming destop and have no mods. I have already tried the clean user folder.

  • Same ! I noticed it crashed much more in Brichester gameplay

  • RulyMicroby hey_moon87 i went through some other threads and my dxdiag file and i finally made it work, so hopefully it can be a bit of a help for someone too. the very first thing i did was disabling turbo boost in bios (which already stopped ts4 from crashing). then later on i updated my bios cause i was trying to figure out if theres another way to make it work while also being able to keep turbo boost enabled, so after a bios update i re-enabled turbo boost setting and it didnt crash anymore either! if anyone tries either of those just make sure to do it properly with some good tutorial or research beforehand if you have never done it before, better safe than sorry

puzzlezaddict not sure if i can send mine here too, but there we go. i tried on a clean user folder, i also tried that thingy with uninstalling my graphic drivers and installing the new ones from nvidia official site and well, after i did that my game didnt crash for like 5 minutes, i got all happy but then it crashed again

  • hey_moon87 annaa2310t  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.  Use fresh sims and a blank or EA-made lot, nothing from the Gallery.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • same here, ive tried everything already. i thought at first that its one of my mods, but even after getting rid of them, with a fresh reinstalled game, a completely new save file and no dlcs it STILL crashes. my pc is quite good, so after trying for a few days to make it work im losing hope lol
