Game crashing on startup windows after 9/18/2024 update
I’ve just downloaded the newest update on my Windows 10 PC. I load up the game, and as soon as the sims 4 logo fully loads in, it crashes. No mods are in there because mods are turned off after updates. I try again 4 more times, it does the same thing. Restart? Same thing. I can’t even open up my game properly. Please fix this soon.
Update no 1: I’ve used the repair button and it got to the sims 4 logo. It crashed once again.
@PuppyL07 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
