Game freezes when exiting cas/repaired game changed language
Hello, I'm having a lot of issues since the latest update and after purchasing the Growing together pack.
First issue was that when I tried to enable mods after the update turned them off even though I have restarted the game the box was still unticked, and mods were disabled. I followed someone's advice and did manage to fix this by deleting options.ini.
When the mods were still turned off, I went to create a sim and when trying to save it the game froze. The sim was still moving in the background, but nothing was happening. I then turned the mods back on and tried again, this time I wanted to save the sim to gallery to not lose it but a notification came up saying I'm offline and need to connect to the internet. I pressed to connect, and the game froze again. I lost 2 fully created sims so this is getting pretty annoying. I then tried this one more time, went into cas and wanted to add sim from gallery to not waste my time but the gallery was full of images with crosses, so I was unable to download anything. I randomised a sim and when trying to save it the game froze yet again.
I then tried to repair the game on EA app and when I went back into the game everything was in Czech language. My sims 4 was purchased in Poland with language lock but I never played it in Czech. Also, since the EA app came out and sims 4 base game became free, I uninstalled the game and installed it in English with no issue. So, I have no idea what is happening.
I have uninstalled the game as I've read that this is the only way to change the language and I'm now waiting for it to download all over again.
Please help, what is happening with my game? I never had issues with it before. Especially the freezing part. I will try again now but I doubt anything got fixed. I won’t use the mods either just to test it but I already did that at the very beginning.
@IndieMusicFreak The Gallery issue is usually caused by an antivirus blocking access to the Sims 4 user folder. Please see the first post in this thread:
For the freezing, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just try out CAS and live mode and let me know how it goes. You don't need to put a lot of effort into CAS—just click around some and see whether the game freezes again.
If you do get another freeze, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
