game freezing

my game keeps freezing at the same point in game every time between 12 and 1 am, i’ve checked all my mods and that’s not the issue, i’ve repaired the game and deleted the localthumbcache file and still can’t save or exit.

  • I had same issue. I removed **bleep** mod (even though they state it was updated) and reloaded the game and immediately made a new save. By doing so, I was able to move past that time and continue playing game as normal.

I'm experiencing the same thing, game is freezing between 12 and 1 am on Friday. I will try to create a new save.

@puzzleaddict that didn't work so I repaired it and made a new sims folder (that solved it for me) but I messed up the graphics because everything is now on low?

  • serendipitysoph  The new folder means a new Options.ini file, which is where settings are stored.  You can change the settings back to what you want now.  But just in case, please first open Config.log, in the same (new) Sims 4 folder, scroll down about 30 lines, to Graphics device info, and confirm that the game is using your GPU.  It doesn't matter whether it's Found, just listed correctly.

If you do NOT see your GPU, please post what you do see instead, and also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
