Game froze and crashed

Yesterday I was playing for 4 hours. My Sim started on Sunday. When I got to Friday and clicked on travel to Spice Festival the game got stuck on the loading screen after traveling. I never made it to the Spice Festival. I had to hit "CTRL, ALT DEL" a few times to get out.

Today I was playing for almost 4 hours again, this time the game crashed and closed out on its owns while I was talking to the tree genie. Yesterday I didn't save as I was playing, so today I started back at Sunday for my Sim. This time it was Thursday afternoon and I did multiple saves thankfully today. But the game closed out on its own. This was not a problem prior to the update. I did buy City Living and the Fairy one a few days ago during the sale. Both worlds are new to me, not sure if it's something with the worlds or not. Last month when I downloaded Small Businesses, I saved it after playing for the first day and it didn't pop up when I went to play again. So, I did a "save as" which was suggested online. But it eventually started saving okay again. I am playing on a PC and I do not use mods. Thanks in advance for your help.
