Game is lagging/unplayable after loading with cottage living pack.

Tried with different households as I play on heavy rotation and it was the same lagginess across the game world. I can't manage to play for long let alone hours with that save in the state it's in honestly. 

Like you suggested tho, I've tried the latest save that wasn't bloated and will play from there without mods to see if it happens again. So far Slot_0000001a.save is running as smooth as it normally would so I'll be utilizing that for my testing now (luckily I rotate my saves often enough it's not a huge set back). 

It's bad that I already have so many Savegames defective. I'm curious to see what will come out of my scores.
More people are reporting the problem in the German forum.

The last patch didn't fix our problem, did it? I would finally like to play again ☹️

@Kucki232  I don't believe it did, sorry.  Since I don't know the root cause of the problem, I can't really make any more suggestions.

I am also having the same issue here. I run Sims on a mSATA SSD and after I installed Cottage Living I suddenly got super long loading screens which weren't there before and even the error "this game couldn't load, please restart". I didn't install any new CC and also updated all my mods right after the patch day. Turns out, it wasn't the fault of mods/cc but the savefile having suddenly lots of empty townies in the game. I really hope EA doesn't ignore this issue and tries to help us asap. ☹️

@puzzlezaddict playing through for a couple hours on a previous save with no mods has yielded no new townies yet, but I haven't played for as long as the last time they arose. I've also put my mods back in played for a while again, closing and reloading the game with no new townies, so I'll see what happens now. 

A mod causing this would be very surprising as most of them are cosmetic or build items. I'm unsure how I'd even find which mod caused this? 

I noticed a mild slowdown in my game after editing a whole neighbourhood with foxes, something I did last time before the townies too. I remember this because another user mentioned experiencing it specifically with foxes for some odd reason. 

@daejonq  If deleting the empty households doesn't help, you may need to revert to a previous save:

The trigger could still be a mod, although I'm starting to see reports of this happening with no mods at all, so it's not clear.

@im_JoelSF  If this is in fact due to a mod, it would likely be a script or tuning mod; it's almost certainly not a custom content item.  But again, I'm not totally sure it is a mod; it's just that the first half-dozen or so reports were all from mod users, and the relatively low frequency suggests it's caused by a specific set of circumstances rather than being a universal bug.

If and when I hear more, I'll post back.

I'm just looking to see when the problem will be lost. Actually, immediately with the new addon. Maybe there was a real conflict with some of them because Deaderpool couldn't update his mod until a day later. So maybe the old version did not get along with the new one and triggered these errors. I try to play a save just before the new add-on came and then with the new MCCC. It would be possible.

I just checked it and after Better Exceptions from Twisted Mexi says that there is a 10% probability that the agin_mixin file is defective, an error code comes up and I am thrown back into the world overview. After that, new households are generated immediately

The game is an absolute mess now. Sims teleporting, simulation lag, normal lag, FPS loss in between build and buy. What a shame to see The Sims slowly going down.

I completely reinstalled the game because a file may be defective. After I've done that, I'm into the world menu and then back to my household. After that, Better Exceptions opens immediately and tells me the same error message again. A new, empty household is generated immediately. I'm really not sure what to do next. No matter if mods or not. Regardless of whether it is a new installation or not: it keeps coming back.

Close your game, try removing handfuls of mods from your Mods folder and retry what you did when you received the exception.

I have the problems only in Henford. Not in my Savegame in Glimmerbrook. When I go with my household to Henfrod, the Error is comming.

Today I did some testing, and I figured out something for sure: whatever the problem is, it has to do with Henford!

I had this same problem, tried making new saves but it still occured in every one of them. However, in all of them, my sim lived in Henford, and in a span of minutes, hundreds of blank townies were generated. The moment I created a save that wasn't in the new world, the game was running smooth again, and no townies were generated.

In an older save where my sims have already moved into Henford, I tried moving them out to Willow Creek, and although the save remainef extremely laggy, the townie generation stopped!

I'm not sure what to do with this information, or what could be causing it, but now I am sure that it has to do with the new world itself. Anyone has any ideas what exactly could be the culprit?

@Kucki232  There are a few possibilities:

• A mod is causing the problem in real time
• A mod caused a problem that persists after the mod is removed
• This is not a mod issue

This is complicated by the fact that removing a mod doesn't remove any blank households that already exist, so someone may report that their save is still laggy with no mods at all.  And I think someone also said that deleting all the blank households didn't stop the lag, although that might be a separate issue.  Point is, it's hard to tell from the information available.
