Game keeps crashing after dec update

PC is fully compatible

Crashes with no mods

I have tried everything. Moving the folder. Updating my driver. Clearing the EA cash. Clearing out the exceptions. Unloading redownloading.  For a month the game has been unplayable. Attached is the latest crash report.

  • Not sure if this is showing but here is the report. Not sure why it didnt attach.

  • kdeenbugaj  The lastcrash won't attach unless you delete its first line, but it doesn't matter, regular players can't really do anything with the file anyway.  Instead, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • You can try checking the Reliability Monitor to see why its crashing. Hit the Windows key + R, and type perfmon /rel. That may give you some reason as to why its crashing.

  • kdeenbugaj  The newer Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag look like the result of conflicting software.  If you use ReShade or GShade, please delete it and repair the game in the EA App (Sims 4 > Manage > Repair).  You may be able to add it back later, but please test without it.

If that doesn't help, please remove any Razer apps you have installed: Synapse, Cortex, whatever you can find.  Here again, you may be able to reinstall them later, but please test without them.

If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue.

If the game freezes or crashes in a clean boot, please try again, except with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

littledragon7  The Reliability Monitor lists the same errors as are at the end of the dxdiag, in the Windows Error Reports section.  The RM has a bit more information for each error, but usually not enough to make a difference.  So it's not necessary to ask for RM data unless the dxdiag doesn't list the WERs at all, or the helper has already seen a dxdiag and only needs to know about new errors.
