Game lagging after new expansion pack

I'm glad I got my game working after update problems (although I certainly won't ever update again or buy new EPs as that's what always messed things up).

But after I installed the Get Together EP, my game is kinda laggy. It's not unplayable but it's still bothersome.

The game freezes at times, mostly during loading and rotating the camera. I tried lowering the graphic settings and playing with all sorts of settings in there, to no avail. I tried deleting cache, removing Mods folder, resetting to factory settings but the lag is still the same.

I'll be happy if anyone has a solution for this.

Here's my dxdiag info, just in case:

  • Didn't have much time to try finding a solution to this until now, and I did find it!

Apparently it was a graphic card driver problem; I uninstalled and then reinstalled the AMD drivers from their website and everything's running smoothly now! So in case someone has a similar problem, try this ^^ Also, I had the lag in other games as well, that I didn't notice before because I wasn't playing anything else but TS4.

  • Since you have a dual graphics cards system, make sure the 64 bit version (ts4_64.exe) runs with the card and not the chip.

  • Thank you for your reply!

I thought that might be it, but sadly no. I specifically added the program to programs in AMD Control Panel and it made no improvements :'(

Did you start a new game for testing purposes to see if it also lags ?

  • Resetting to factory settings is basically starting a new game, right? It lagged after that too :/

I'd try complete reinstall but I did one before the new expansion and it cost me a lot of nerves, so I'd rather have my game laggy but working I guess xD

Depends if you put your game back right away or follow instructions to start a new game (not everyone does but just try their current save game, so just making sure),

Could you maybe post a video of what you are seeing ?
