Game stuck in Fullscreen mode.

  1. Game Options.
  2. Set Graphics-> Display Type to "Windowed Fullscreen" and Apply Changes.
  3. When it asks if I want to keep it, I say "Yes".
  4. Quit the game (without saving).
  5. Relaunch the game.
  6. Game will still be in "Fullscreen" mode.

The fix is to SAVE the game before quitting and after setting it to Windowed Fullscreen mode, which doesn't make much sense.

I'll test it again a few times to see if it keeps it now, but it wasn't useful to constantly do this change, unless I'm missing the fix from a previous patch, which the game is up to date as of now.

After relaunching the game (to the start screen), it stayed in Windowed Fullscreen mode (after the save).  So not sure if the most recent patch fixed it or not, or this is an issue that I was able to bypass using the Save game.

  • Hi GuruSR

Are you only having issues if you are within a save or also if you do it from the main screen ?

I tested this and it worked fine for me but I didn't load a save game.

Do you have the issue only for Window Fullscreen > Fullscreen or all changes ?

For the longest time I had the game in Windowed Fullscreen mode, not sure which update recently caused that to go Fullscreen mode.  I tried a few days ago to set it to Windowed Fullscreen mode and since I use mods, I had to restart the game, upon doing so, it was back to Fullscreen mode.  As for other changes, I did not try much, since everything has stayed the same pretty much for a long time.

When I did the change and quit, it was at the screen for loading games, it did not remember the change away from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen.  When I run the game now, it sees the change, but that only seemed to work after saving a game.  Without knowing where the data for these settings is saved, I can't validate if the change was indeed recorded without the Save of a game.

I've not tested any other game settings, aside from turning mods on after the update that disabled them.  Enabling the mods worked as normal.

They are saved in the options.ini.

So if you deleted that, you're settings will reset.

It can happen that changes aren't properly saved so if it's not something that happens all the time, I wouldn't worry about it.
