Game will not progress past first loading screen and shows black (see image)
I recently downloaded the newest update, which I assume would be the marketplace and broken .package file update and the patch update combined, and my game has completely stopped loading. I have tried everything from clearing both EA and Sims 4 cache to updating my drivers to making a new, clean game file (it does load and can only handle a portion of non-script cc without breaking) to uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice, which is when the partial cc had originally began to work. I've attempted siphoning my mods in and out to see what causes the issue but I can't even get that far without the "cannot run because EA app needs to be open" error appearing. I did move my save, mods and tray files from my original game and attempted putting them back into the new one, but that also causes the black screen. The one or two times I did get it to sort of work, my save files were not there, and I worry they might be corrupted and I don't have anything backed up. In the new game file I made, it was borderline unplayable due to the sheer amount of lag it had, and previous to the update I had no lag issues. Occasionally the game will boot to a completely white window then force close with the "ea needs to be running" error. I have deleted all script cc and tried to remove all duplicate or recently downloaded cc. I have repaired the game multiple times through EA and it hasn't helped much from what I can tell. I have tried running a dxdiag but it does not even show the ability to run. I have also tried running EA as administrator to no use. I have attached my most recent UIException file. If it is of any use, I am on Windows 10.Can I play The Sims 4 on my laptop?
Hi, I have a question about whether I can play The Sims 4 on my laptop or not. I have a Lenovo Ideapad 17,3 I3- 1215U. According to the system requirements on the EA website, my laptop meets the minimum requirements. Only the video card I’m not sure about. I have only the base game installed and I have no mod’s and cc. I play no other games on that laptop. Besides for The Sims, I use my laptop for typing, e-mail, internet and watching You Tube video’s. I looked up information on google and everything that I can find there, say’s that my laptop should be able to run The Sims 4, although on low-minimum settings. It say’s that I should be able to play it even with a few expansions packs, and that I would get a problem if I would have all the expansion packs or cc and mods. But at the computer store where I bought the laptop, they say that nowadays, to be able to play games, you should have a gaming laptop. I just think that isn’t true, because all the information I find say’s different. They say my laptop doesn’t have a video card, so I can’t play The Sims 4 on it. I think it’s probably true that I don’t have a video card, but on the internet it say’s that my laptop has a integrated Intel UDH Graphics, and that I’m able to play the game with that. (This is what it say’s on google. I’m not sure what video card/graphics I have). I would appreciate it if someone can help me find out whether my laptop can run The Sims 4 or not, at least the base game. I would like to add a few expansion pack’s, but it is not necessary. If it’s possible, I would like to add ‘Cats and dogs’, ‘Seasons’ and ‘Cottage living’. Thanx in advance.Laptop recommemdations

Will the current Sims 4 memory leaks ever be fixed? I know that EA Games could do so, if they wanted to as the game plays as intended when there are event tasks that must be completed. The clock starts ticking on the memory leaks, once the event tasks for the week have been completed. This is years now that this has been going on. Oh, and I have exactly zero mods or CC. I have only EA games content. Are there any updates that can correct this? Anything that can correct it from occurring? Please help!Sharp outline around Sim bodies despite ultra quality settings
Hello everyone. I've had this happening in my game for a while and I've finally decided to ask if people had any idea what might be causing it. I've attached images, hopefully you can see what I'm talking about. There's an area in the exact shape of my Sim that seems to create an "outline," primarily around the shoulder area, where it's much sharper than the rest of the background. I've also included edits of the screenshots where I've drawn over the outlines. This has been happening for over a year despite my game settings being on ultra settings/the highest possible. I've tried searching Google for this and haven't found anything that might solve it. I've also tried it with no mods/cc (clean mods folder), and the issue persists, just to a lesser extent. In addition, I've tried repairing my game. I just figured I'd see if anyone knew what was going/has also encountered this, and how I could fix it. Thank you.graphics problems?
Hi everyone, I'll explain step by step what I did. My The Sims has always worked fine, and I have about 100 mods but from 2022 until yesterday I never had any problems with this gaming computer I have. Yesterday, however, I thought of going to Windows 11 settings > system > display > graphics and manually insert The Sims 4 into this list to set my graphics on the game, which are good graphics, I entered the game and I didn't understand anything anymore, I lag, the CAS is very slow, I tried removing The Sims 4 from the list I told you about before but nothing, I uninstalled and reinstalled The Sims but nothing either, I don't know how to solve this problem, the game no longer runs smoothly, the CAS takes a few seconds longer to load an outfit when before it was perfect despite the cc I'm posting pictures of where I went in Windows settings and my computer info, please help me!Inverted colours
Colours are inverted when you open game. Have tried exiting and restarting, but still the same. The only thing that seems to fix it is minimising and going back into the game but then if you travel or choose a new family, the game crashes. I don't have any CC or mods installed. Any suggestions please?119Views0likes3CommentsUnrecognized Video Card
hey so i just built a computer and i opened The Sims 4 for the first time in this device and i got a warning saying that my graphics card is unrecognized. i have checked and yes my pc is using my gpu as graphics and not the cpu integrated ones. i need help solving this pls. thanks! === Graphics device info === Number: 0 Name (driver): AMD Radeon RX 9070 Name (database): [Found: 0, Supported: 1] Vendor: ATI Chipset: Vendor: 1002, Device: 7550, Board: 87101eae, Chipset: 00c3 Driver: , Version: 32.0.22042.1, GUID: 038FB235-EFFC-11EE-BE2A-806E6F6E6963 Driver version: 1 Monitor: \\.\DISPLAY1 Texture memory: 16304MB Vertex program: 5.0 Pixel program: 5.0 Hardware TnL: 1 Opt. features:SolvedGame breaking bug (ive tried everything :C )
Product: The Sims 4 Platform:Steam-PC Which language are you playing the game in? English How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) What is your current game version number? idk the newest What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? none Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? i dont know how to get it! All i did was download the game. I removed all mods, restarted the game, turned down the resolution, moved the file to desktop, redownloading it TWICE, EVERYTHING. The things i didnt do was because i dont know how to do them because all the tutorials are from last year or over. Ive only seen one other person talk about it. What happens when the bug occurs? When i open my game, it takes a second to load, and then immediately freezes. The music still plays in the background but i cant move my mouse, get off the screen use key imputs to get out or even close it down without task manager!! the only way ive been able to get out is by turning my laptop off and on again. and no, i cant go to settings because it freezes the screen and my mouse immediately. It worked just fine on my older laptop, so i doubt its an issue with it running bad. and its new too. i also moved my mods to a completely different folder. suprisingly, even though the screen freezes, i can still interact with ingame buttons if im quick enough to move my mouse over them in time. tldr: my screen instantly freezes What do you expect to see? the screen stays white while loading, i can still move my mouse. screen freezes, music still plays. ingame buttons still work. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them. Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No idk what to put here because i cant exactly screenshot a frozen screen :CSolved
