Game wont save

I am having trouble saving my games on the sims 4 !! I've been playing for ages now but just a couple of months ago I went on to create another family and as I was creating it I realised that it had not loaded in the bottom left corner where their faces are. I waited a while and it still did not load, so instead I tried to save it and did the same thing, I left it on all night to see if eventually it would save but I still woke up to the same saved loading screen. It has the exact same problem when I play my already made families that I have too. Although the weird thing is that when I am building a house without playing with any sim character or adding stuff in the pre made lots, it has no problem at all with saving? Please help I've been stuck with this for months and I would really like to play again with my sims.
