Game won't stop crashing

I’ve tried everything to fix my game, but nothing is working. I uninstalled the entire game, deleted my Sims files, and reinstalled it. I checked for broken mods, played without any mods, repaired the game, and deleted every file that was supposed to be removed. Despite all of this, the game still freezes after about 5 minutes of play and then crashes. This has never happened before my game always worked perfectly aside from occasional crashes and that recent roofing issue. The issue started after the most recent update, and I don’t understand what went wrong. My Acer Nitro runs other games flawlessly, so I have no idea why The Sims 4 is crashing. EA, please fix your game. Stop releasing updates that only make things worse.

  • Hi Softachiever

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    • Press Windows-Key + R
    • Type: DxDiag
    • Click on Save all Information.
    • Attach the Text File to your post
  • Softachiever  Your dxdiag shows that your laptop's graphics driver is crashing over and over.  If this is happening while you're playing Sims 4 (the dxdiag doesn't and wouldn't make that clear), it could easily crash the game as well.  So please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

If you get another crash afterwards, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of this most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Hi, I did everything you told me to and I still had a crash. This is what the Reliability Monitor said

    Description
The program TS4_x64.exe version 1.126.73.1030 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

  • Softachiever  Then please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.  Use fresh sims on a blank or EA-made lot, nothing from the Gallery in either case.

If you get yet another crash, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  (Keep saying you don't have that info until you get some security questions instead.)  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.  That's fine for now.
