Gameplay settings are not correctly applied

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.62.67.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Only base game
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Game Options > Gameplay settings: Disable Auto-aging for unplayed sims, set Lifespan to "Long" and disable "Fill empty homes".
What happens when the bug occurs? The settings "Auto-Aging (unplayed Sims)", "Lifespan" and "Fill empty homes" do not work as expected. - I disabled the auto aging of unplayed sims, but they still do age. - I set the lifespan to "Long" and on played Sims this seems to work fine, but unplayed sims (not in the currently live played household) do still age pretty fast. - I disabled the "Fill empty homes" setting, but there are still random NPCs spawning. I only want my own created households to exist, but there always spawn so many new NPCs again, after I deleted them.
What do you expect to see? I expect my unplayed sims NOT to age and die all the time while I disabled this in the settings. Just for clarification: I understand "unplayed Sims" as any sim, that is NOT part of my currently live played household. And I also expect the NPC-Spawn to stop when disabling it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I did always restart the game after changing the settings and checked that the settings look as expected after restart.

  • @jackybrownsteen The fill empty homes doesn't effect NPC spawning. NPCs spawn to fill roles, there' no way to turn that off. They should however not move into houses on their own.

    For the aging:

Do you play rotationally or just a single family ?

Unplayed Sims are that show as unplayed in your household manager (plumbob gives you the indication if they're played or not)

Could you maybe add as screenshot of your setting ?
