Green (!) symbol on my restuarant lot

I made a restuarant and it's not working. When I first built the lot and finished, it had a green explanation point on top of it. I bought the restuarant and tried running it but I had a code error and was told to restart the game. After restarting I was able to load into it and hire some sims. Once I did that, I then had a problem where my game would not unpause itself, not to be mistaken for a crash, the game was still running but I couldn't unpause. So I reset it again and played with a different family, I could enter the lot but it wasn't functioning as a restuarant, no staff showed up and none of the restuarant interactions would show up when clicking on tables to the host station.
