HELP ! My sims 4 game keeps crashing!
Hi Everyone,
I'm experiencing some frustrating issues with my game. It either crashes immediately upon launch or while I’m playing or switching between worlds.
I've updated my graphics card, but it still doesn’t show up correctly in the Config ([Found: 0, Supported: 1]).
Currently, I’m playing without any mods or custom content, and I haven’t restored any CC or mods to the new Sims 4 folder. I’m at a loss for what might be causing this issue and would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
I’ll attach my dxdiag below in case that helps.
Thank you!
@ardenn8 The unrecognized graphics card is not itself an issue, so you can ignore that for now. It's certainly fixable, but it's best to leave that alone until the game is stable.
If you have any files in ConfigOverride, please remove them.
Otherwise, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether it crashes.
If you do get another crash, please try switching back to DirectX 9 mode. If you can get to the Main Menu, it's a check box included with the other graphics options, to the right of Post Processing. If you can't, open the EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx9 to the command line box. Please remember that you've done this, as it will override any other settings until you remove the command line argument again.
