How do I get player-created Neighbor Sims to interact?

I've been sadly away from the game for a few years, saving up for new desktop.  Now I've started playing again, but my households don't interact with one another.  They interact with the "factory preset" characters like the Goths and the Pancakes and so forth.  But previously, i could populate lots and play back and forth between them, getting all my creations to interact not only with existing game characters but also ALL of my created characters.  But right now, when I play one of my households, they never seem to be able to interact with the neighbors I create.  Those neighbors' households aren't visible.  Having player-created families being able to interact and cross-pollinate and move in with each other was one of my favorite things.  Please tell me that's still an option and if so (oh please!) how do I make it happen?

  • @MGGregor  When you say the neighbors' houses aren't visible, do you mean as if you've never added them?  Are you playing one save with all these sims, or multiple different saves?  To put it another way, when you load the game to the Main Menu, where you can choose "New Game" or "Load Game," if you select Load game, do you see one save total or one for each household?

@MGGregor  That's the issue then: each of your households is its own separate save, isolated from each of your other households.  In order for them to interact, they need to be in the same save.

What you can do, if you want them all together, is save each household to the in-game Library, then place copies of each one in a single save.  The sims placed this way won't know anyone, and some progress with collections might be reset, but they should retain their jobs and skills, and I believe their household funds too.  You can save their houses as well and place them wherever you like.

If you want to make sure the other sims don't age without your playing them, you can disable aging for everyone except the active household.

THANK YOU!!  apologies for the delay in replying, I was merging all those households into one game and rebuilding all those skills as I establish all the relationships. SO much fun.

Thank you for your help!! 💚🙏🏻🦄
