Yes it works on Windows 10.
Try redeeming the code through Origin (Origin in the menu).

Do i have to put the 2nd disc in to start the game ?
- crinrict9 years agoHero+
Hi @jmunk100
where exactly are you stuck ? Did you install the Origin client yet ? Where did you enter the product code ? On the dialog to install from disc or directly in the client ?

I have the same problem!! Origin is so bad and off putting. I've had so many previous problems with Origin and hoped it would be different this time. I explicitly asked for the Sims 4 disc so I can install from disc. But I have been prompted to install Origin first. So I do, but first I have to recover my old account. So I do. Then I reinsert the disk and it prompts me to install origin. I already have this. So I enter my verification code. Then I think I can now install from disk. But I can't! So now I want a refund!!!!! This is ridiculous, I'm going in circles, I have no install options except to download. I don't want to have to be online to play! If your have to be online and have to download the game, to install and can't install from disc, what's the point of selling discs!? I'm running Windows 10.

Maybe this helps @Ajenkins2549 https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/installing-from-dvd/

Same problem. I have Windows 10. Autorun doesn't work. Technical "solutions" provided in the link depend on getting to an install screen and going to Origin to get a redeem code.

My disc will not work at all and I do not know what to do.
- Phantomlover17178 years agoLegend
@Fibidu just enter the code in to Origin (Origin in the menu > Redeem Product Code), this will add The Sims 4 to your Game Library and you can install through there.
- 7 years agoWindows 10 does not allow autorun on Sims 4 in my case.

Simply run setup. The what to do prompt you get in Windows 10 gives you this option. You can also just use file explorer and doubleclick it there.

Have you used the code before or did you just buy it?
I'm trying to register my game but it says the serial code is invalid/already used
Depending on the situation the solution to this may vary.
You bought the game on Origin
If you bought the game on Origin, it's not necessary to register the code anywhere. Download the Origin Client here: http://origin.com/download, log in with the same email you bought the game with and find the game in the Game Library tab within the Origin Client to download. You don't need the serial code.
You bought the game on DVD and the box was sealed
Make sure you typed the code right. The following letters look very similar and are easily mistaken for each other- 0, O and D
- 8 and B
- Z and 2
If it still says it's invalid, try taking it back to the store you bought it from and exchange it. If they are not willing to do that, contact an EA Game Advisor with proof of purchase ready.
You bought the game on DVD and the box was not sealed/it's a used game
Used games cannot be re-registered. Take it back to where you bought it and get a refund.
You bought a key from a key seller
Contact the key seller for a replacement. If you bought the game from an unauthorized seller, it's possible that EA blocked the key if they were bought fraudulently by the seller. You're better off to only buy from authorized sellers.
You have already registered the game yourself and are trying to reinstall the game
The game does not need to be registered again. Login in the Origin Client with the Email/PW you first registered the game on and download and install the game from there. The game only needs to be registered once and you won't need the code again after your initial registration. This is true for both the DVD and the download version. You can skip the activation step on reinstalling.
