how to access old save files after switching computers

Hi, I had to get a new computer recently as the CPU on my old one died. I copied all my files and folders directly from the old hard drive to the new computer, so all my old save files are in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves (both computers are Windows). Then, I installed the game on my new computer and opened it. There was no option to continue an existing game, only to start a new one. I tried opening and closing the game, restarting computer, etc. Somehow it doesn't recognize where to find the save files, and I'm not sure where to move the save files to for the game to recognize that they're there? Thanks to anyone who can help!

  • Sometimes on a new windows machine the Documents folder is actually installed under Ondrive.

    Instead of Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves

It could be in Onedrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves

    Check there
