How to Fix the Audio in the Sims 4

I've been playing the sims 4 for about 5 years and am a pretty avid player. I recently purchased a new laptop and downloaded the game. The audio was fine for about a week but then for one reason or another it stopped. From the moment I open the game till the moment I create a household and am playing with them there is no sound I really wish I knew how to fix this I really enjoy hearing simlish and other things that are happening in game. It is specially annoying when I am playing a household with multiple children you can usually hear them doing stuff and hear the baby crying.
