I’m looking for a cheap laptop to play sims 4, please help!!

I’m looking for a cheap laptop to play sims 4 with most expansion packs and cc/mods, I live in Canada. I would like my budget to stay $600 and under. I found one laptop on Best Buy for cheaper price I will leave link here, would this play sims 4 okay? If not please leave suggestions that I can get in Canada for that price. Thank you

For this budget, I’d focus on the processor, graphics, RAM, and SSD rather than just the laptop brand. For The Sims 4 with most expansion packs and a lot of CC/mods, 8GB RAM should work, but 12GB or 16GB would give you more breathing room. If you’re still comparing options, you can also check ORM Systems for laptops and other IT hardware and compare the available specifications before making a decision. For Sims 4 specifically, I’d prioritize a Ryzen 5/Core i5 or better, 8GB+ RAM, and preferably an SSD. If you can find a laptop with a dedicated graphics card within your $600 CAD budget, that would be an even better option for higher graphics settings.

  • @danielleealliii  The laptop you found isn't bad for its price, but for a bit more money (still less than $600 though), you could get something somewhat better.  While you'd still be looking at an integrated graphics chip, the Radeon Vega 8 is significantly faster than the Intel UHD 620, and the graphics card is the single most important component when it comes to how well a given computer will run most games, including Sims 4.  Additionally, you could get twice the storage

These two laptops have the same specs: the same AMD Ryzen with its Vega 8 graphics chip, 8 GB RAM, and a 256 GB solid state drive.  They should both handle Sims 4 with all packs installed on medium graphcis settings.  They're $546 and $570, respectively.

This one, for $550, is actually a bit better for about the same price because it has 12 GB RAM.  It does come with Windows 10 in S mode, meaning it doesn't allow apps to be installed from anywhere other than the Microsoft store.  But you could upgrade to Windows 10 Home for free, and it wouldn't be complicated at all.  This laptop is also only on sale until the end of today.

If you're looking for something cheaper, this one has the same processor, graphics chip, and RAM as the first two.  It's main difference is that it has a larger but significantly slower hard drive.  Everything from Windows to most apps would load much more slowly on the HDD, but most apps, including Sims 4, would run the same once they were loaded.  The other point is that it's from a third-party open-box seller, so you'd want to get it checked out right away.

There is one more option that I saw that may or may not be available where you are.  This MSI is sold out online, but there are open-box units available in some stores.  If you could find one nearby, it would be a significantly better option than any of the others.  It's a proper gaming laptop with a dedicated graphics card that should be capable of handling the entire game on high graphics settings.
