I can't see the videos I recorded in sims 4

So I've been trying to record some videos in the sims 4 for awhile now with the V button, but when I go to Electronic Arts>Videos and click on the video I recorded it plays but it's just black and no...

    You could try Windows Media Player.

I'd prefer not to download a whole new program but I will if I need to. Is there any other way to get this to work?

      I learned that the Films app can not play .avi files, so I opened in WMP. The sound plays, but there is no video? Any ideas on how to get this to play?
