I keep getting this error code

I have previously purchased The Sims 4 but ever since the Sims Legacy Edition update, I cant go back to the original Sims 4. It's telling me my EA Play membership has expired and that I need to renew my membership or purchase the game to keep playing, but I already purchased it before. I meet the requirements to run it too. So i have no other choice but to click renew membership but when I do this error code pops up :  [ref. #Error: httpRequest ERROR: https://gateway.ea.com/proxy/commerce/carts2/store-cart-purchase-client/offerEntries?storeId=Store-Origin¤cyCode=USD&needFullCartInfo=true&needClearCart=true&countryCode=US 400 (Bad Request)] . I never recall having an EA Play membership and it doesn't have any option to purchase the game again. I'm not sure what's going on or what to do. 

I was on a Mac from 2009 when Sims legacy Edition came out so that's what I had to play on, but I went to a PC that met the requirements to try and play without Legacy Edition but this error code just keeps coming up. Please help me :,) Thank you!

  • @colldbutter  You should not need to renew EA Play, regardless of what Origin says.  This happens sometimes when a subscription expires, but it's entirely fixable.  By the way, EA gave a free month of what was then Origin Access (now EA Play) to anyone who had two-factor authentication on their Origin account or who added it last October, so that may be how you got it.

    Anyway, open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Uninstall.  You should see three options, one of which is "revert game edition," which would remove the EA Play version and give you access to the one you bought.  If you don't see this option, try clearing Origin's cache and restarting your computer.

    If that doesn't help either, you can contact EA customer support and ask that the EA Play version of Sims 4 be removed from your account.  This is simple for a support rep to do.
