I uninstalled ONEDRIVE and now i cant get my game to open up

I uninstalled ONEDRIVE and now i cant get my game to open up in the right documents folder

I was experiencing some glitches with my sims 4 game after installing some new mods. I didn't realize OneDrive was were my sims4 was being downloaded. SO I saved a copy of my current game and then uninstalled OneDrive. I uninstalled the game and EA after re installing i could open the game and it would play but once i opened the game files i did not see a tray folder or a saves folder. I looked up the file location and realized it  was being saved on my local C drive in the program files but the sims 4 folder does not have tray folders or save files yet my game i ran to see if it is working keeps being in the game

Thanks for responding , I am going through sims withdrawal lol

It opens but its a new game that i started last night i created a family so i could see if it would allow me to save it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and the same new family appears. But i want to put my saves, mods and tray folder from my old sims game into the new one but when i open the file location i don't see any tray or save folders from the new game. I hope that makes sense

  • jaydream  The saves and other data may be in the old location:

    C:\Users\your username\OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

You can open that location in a File Explorer window by clicking This PC in the left panel and then choosing the successive folders.

If your files aren't there, they may be on onedrive.com, which you can access without reenabling OneDrive on your computer.

If that doesn't help either, please see this guide to missing user content:

I think i found it , can i just download the file on my computer where should i save it

  • jaydream  Your user files and folders need to be in the location the game is currently reading.  Use the guide I linked in my first reply to find the exact location, then move any stray files into the appropriate subfolders in that location.

I think I made it worse, 🙃I was able to locate the folders on one drive and download them back to my pc. But when opening the game after uninstalling and re installing it keeps loading the temp family  i made to test if my game was operating correctly, i think the drives are mixed up because now my documents folder says the location in program files and not c drive\user\documents. it has one drive on the end

so now when i try to re install the game and when it ask  where to save the default is saying program files on the cdrive , is that correct? or should i be installing the game in the documents folder

  • jaydream  You should absolutely not install the game into Documents.  Doing so is asking for trouble.  The default location of C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4 is fine.

Your screenshot shows that your Documents directory is currently in OneDrive.  Please get rid of it as described here:

    📓[GUIDE] [PC] Managing OneDrive | EA Forums - 12636625

Note that part of the process is backing up your files somewhere safe, and once you've done that, you'll place the files in the new non-OneDrive-related location:

    C:\Users\your username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

You may still see your new test save when you load the game to the Main Menu.  That's normal—the menu shows you the most recent sims you've played, by the date the saves were last modified.  You can use Load Game to choose whatever save you'd like to play.
