It only has a Celeron CPU with no dedicated graphics. It will likely be able to run Sims 4 on medium settings.

If you like to have other suggestions write which country you are in and what your budget is then someone will give you suggestions.

Do you have any UK recommendations for a laptop that will play sims4?

It's for my daughter, she's been using my old laptop, and it's just... not good...

The most I could realistically spend is £300 - £350.

@kerryphilp946  With your budget, there's really only one tier of laptop to consider.  This tier includes a few processors and graphics chips that are all within a few percentage points of each other and can run Sims 4, all current packs included, on medium-high to high graphics settings.  All of the laptops I'm listing are in this tier; the differences are storage and screen size, and of course price.  For storage, 256 GB is enough for Sims 4 and about 100 GB of user content (saves, mods and cc, etc.), so while 512 GB is nice to have, it's not strictly necessary for Sims 4.

These are the cheapest options of this performance tier I found, at £300 and £330, respectively.  They're the same model except that the second one has double the storage,.  If you want the first one, you may need to buy right away—it looks like this offer is only for a limited quantity.  But the second option doesn't appear to have that limit.

Sorry I'm totally jumping in but I've got this laptop and the laptop I used to use for the sims 4 is not taking it anymore. I was wondering if possible to play the sims 4 with mods on it, is there even a way to make the performance any better 

@carlie2806  It would help to know the exact specs of this laptop.  For that, and so I can look for any problems that might impede Sims 4 performance, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@carlie2806  This laptop isn't going to run Sims 4 all that well, but you should be able to play on low or low-medium graphics settings, perhaps a bit higher if you're only running the base game.  One thing I would suggest is increasing the size of the page file a bit.  This is where the processor holds data that would normally be in RAM but doesn't fit, and Sims 4 uses enough memory to make this a potential issue.  Here's how to increase the page file size (option three):

Set the minimum to 12000 and the maximum to 16384, then restart your computer before doing anything else.

Given the (generic, probably not concerning) Windows errors in your dxdiag, I'd also suggest running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

• Hit Windows key-X
• Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
• Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
• The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
• After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
• Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
• Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
• Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.
