Color inversion when switching menus

Whenever I switch from build mode to live mode or vice versa, this happens for a few seconds, then goes back to normal. I also see it once the plumbob stops moving on the startup screen. I have updated my graphics driver, color accessibility is turned off, HDR for games is not compatible with my computer, and my computer is up to date. I used to buy Dell only, and this never happened. Now I have a Lenovo LOQ, with Nvidia Geforce RTX 4050 because I was tired of Dell getting so hot to the touch. I was told to come here from Deaderpool's (MC Command Center) server support channels.

  • Brohepsi  Is this on your laptop's built-in screen, or an external monitor?  If you're using a monitor, please test with the laptop screen instead.

And if you're using any kind of tool that changes how the game works—ReShade/GShade, a lighting mod, a utility or custom file to improve graphics, whatever—please remove it and repair the game, then test again.

Please also provide a dxdiag, for reference.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

puzzlezaddict It is my laptop's monitor, I have no other screens. I am not using reshades that I know of; I even tried turning on Nvidia game overlay to see if it would fix it and it did not. Here is the dxdiag:

  • Brohepsi  Your dxdiag shows that your graphics driver is crashing over and over, including causing at least two recent BSODs.  So please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver.  Here's how:

The thing is, I've been wondering if there might be a problem with the newest Nvidia driver (and its most recent previous version).  I don't know whether it's true, but it's easy enough to try playing with a slightly older driver.  You can get them here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/results/

I would try version 591.46, from January 27, since the next driver afterwards was a major update (you can tell from the version numbers).  You'll want a Game Ready Driver, not a Studio version.

puzzlezaddict I had to do this twice because I stupidly thought I could get the download from the Nvidia app with no internet connection, so I had to use the system restore point. I could not find a 591.46, so I grabbed one that was released January 5th. The issue is unfortunately persisting. I opened Sims 4 and went between build and live mode twice. I downloaded a new dxdiag in case it's changed at all:
