Infinite loading screen

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get To Work, Get Together, City Living, Outdoor Retreat, Movie Hangout Stuff,
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When you open the game
What happens when the bug occurs? When I start my game everything is fine until the first loading screen appears. It keeps loading forever, sometimes I can go to the main menu, but after I open a lot it loads forever and ever, I tried to load this for hours and never happened. The game itself doesn't crash anytime.
What do you expect to see? I expect to load the game properly so I can play.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The last game update.

So, I tried to fix the problem by removing all my Custom Contents but it still didn't work. Then I searched some websites related to the game and youtube channels and a lot of people said that I just have to change my game folder, 'cause since the last update, after Vampires and Toddlers the game started to load for ever like I said. They provided a new link so I could download a new game folder (note that lots of people did the same and for then it worked just fine). I download it and my game worked just fine, except for one huge problem. I will attach some screenshots of what is going on now, after I replaced the game folder.

So this happened. The infinite loading screen stopped, but then I couldn't play 'cause I couldn't see anything that was written on the game, like I couldn't make my sim eat something because I didn't know what was written, it was all blank. So now I'm stuck. If I delete this new game folder and play with my old one it will stuck again at the infinite loading screen. What can I do?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately it didn't work. I did exactly what you said to me, I made a backup of my Sims4 folder and then I renamed it and tried to open the game again. But seconds after I got an error message.

I don't know what to do anymore. I think I will delete everything and then install my game all over again and see if the error is still there. Anyway, thank you very much, I'm sure I messed up at some point while following the instructions, but it's okay.

Did you also reinstall Origin ?

It's really not a good idea to just download other peoples game folders from the internet. You have no idea what you get.

Actually, I deleted the game folder I downloaded from the internet and kept the original one and just after that I followed the steps you provided me, but as you can see I still have issues. Anyway, thanks so much for you help! I will uninstall my game and install it again. Thanks!
