Infinite Load/"Restart Required" Save issue

Having the same issue doesn't work even after pulling any mods out of the game.

Thanks for adding a solution to this issue! I can confirm that a restart of my entire computer (which I had not done since patching) ended the infinite loading screen and allowed me to load the older saves. Upon resaving the saves listed as "restart required" and exiting, the "restart required" label went away.

It just didn't click that the game was indicating i needed to restart my entire computer versus the game itself.

@ManicGlitter @LadyRaritatum : Do you own all the Packs?

I was going to test another issue on here, using Teknikah's World of WIPs save, and I encountered this. Restarting the computer did nothing for me, though. (The first time I deleted the avatar and localthumbcaches, the second time I didn't. The first time, Origin was still running because I forgot to shut it down. The second time, I shut it down first, IIRC. I also haven't tried to load the save, because I figured it wouldn't work.)

Did a change get made that prevents the use of saves with unowned Packs?

UPDATE: I've since learned that this is related to the City Living Trial that is currently running, and that if you own the pack or are taking part in the Trial the save will load. I'll try that tomorrow.

@ManicGlitter I'm so glad you were able to get it working! I honestly didn't think rebooting the entire computer would really change anything, but I figured why not try, it was the only thing I hadn't restarted yet, and it never hurts! 

@StarryMight I have every pack/kit except Batuu and Backyard Stuff.

Also probably should mention I'm on Mac OS, that sometimes makes a difference.

Wait, so how do I deal with this issue?

My old saves are there, but when I go in, my most recent progress on them isn't there but instead progress from like months ago is showing as the most recent save. I've restarted The Sims 4, Origin AND tried backing up and reseting my sims however the same thing is still showing.

Any recommendations?

@yomamasbaguette  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?  Are you running the standard version of Sims 4 or the Legacy Edition?

Yesterday, I tried loading the save in question, and it worked! 🙌

Also, when I did a new instance of it later that day, I simply clicked on "Play", and it also worked.

I should mention that I do already own City Living, though.
