Invited Sims Disappear Immediately

This has been happening for months now.  It doesn't matter what world my sim is in, if they live in that world, if the invited sims live in the same world... it happens every time no matter what I try.

I will invite sims, one or more, and as soon as all sims arrive at the lot, my invited sims disappear.  There is no time to even begin an interaction with any of the invited sims.  They just disappear.  It happens on dates, too!

I've tried repairing the game, deleting some code mods, updating every mod I can, and updating the game to its most current.  Nothing has helped.
