Is this a laptop that can play the sims?
I really need help finding a cheap ish laptop for the sims 4 and I'm kind of at my wits end looking. This at least has amd ryzen which I've heard is good?
athosing If it makes you feel better, you can do better than this laptop for your budget. It's not a terrible choice, just not the best in this price range or even a bit lower. And I routinely find laptops with the same or similar hardware for £500 or a bit less.
In the category of cheaper (at least now) and better, what do you think of this one? It's 1.7 kg, the same weight as the Vivobook, and its graphics chip is significantly faster, not quite double the speed of the one in the Vivobook but fast enough to be a significant upgrade.
This one has even faster hardware, and a pretty OLED screen, and it's only 1.25 kg, but I don't know whether you're reluctant to buy an Acer laptop in general or just don't want a gaming laptop.
If you'd prefer a bigger screen, this one's graphics chip is not as fast as the two above but is closer to the first one in performance than it is to the Vivobook you linked. It's cheaper than the others too.
As for Amazon, this has the same model number as the one you linked and is £400, but the graphics chip listed is incorrect for the processor Currys lists. That could mean they're not the same model, and the Amazon-listed graphics chip would be an upgrade, but I'd double-check before buying it, if there's a way to get in contact with customer support. The point is that the Currys model has a Ryzen 7 7730U, which comes with Vega 8 graphics, not the Radeon 680M Amazon is showing.

To be honest though, I'm not sure I trust any of the Amazon listings I found, as they're all missing some details or the details contradict each other. And the prices at Currys are reasonable, at least right now, so I'd stick with one of those options if you like them.
If you don't like any of these and are willing to get closer to £700, I can list more options too. They're not going to be better on the performance side, but the other details matter too.
