Issues with Managing Add-Ons in Sims 4

I bought Sims 4 FOREVER ago, through Origin, including over 20 different expansions packs. I tried to reinstall about a week ago and found that Origin is no longer a thing and that it was replaced by the EA App. I have a PC and have Windows 11.

So I downloaded the EA App and was able to install the Sims 4 base game. However, all my add-ons are not downloading. Two (Up All Night and Life of the Party Digital Content) have, the others have not. I have cleared my cache, and repaired the game, and still nothing.

In the EA App, when I click on "manage" and then "manage add-on's" it shows all my packs, but below each one it says to manage on Steam. I have never had a steam account, I created one today to see if I could link the EA App and Steam, but have had zero luck. Someone help me!

  • @Katylou43768  Please reinstall Origin and let me know whether you can download your content from there.

And please also confirm that you've signed into the correct EA/Origin account.  Normally missing content indicates that someone has accidentally created a new account, which is easy to do, and the content you've downloaded is bundled with the Digital Deluxe edition of the base game.  So what it sounds like is you've signed into an EA account that only owns the DD base game and is (possibly) linked to a Steam account that owns other content.

One way to confirm you're in the correct account is to search your email inbox for receipts or other correspondence from EA or Origin.

@puzzlezaddict Just saw this after commenting on another thread that you posted on! I will try this and get back to you! I tried to look back to see if I had a steam account with one of my emails and I definitely don’t. So I may have used my husbands steam account for the dlc. I’m assuming I’m in the right EA account since it shows all my dlc. But I’ll double check.

EDIT: Okay I downloaded Origin (Didn't know you could actually, I thought it was no longer a thing), signed into my account and it began verifying my Sims 4 game. Cool. I was able to open it up. It's still the same game that I started. I was able to log into my husband's steam account and it looks like that is where I bought the DLC packs. Is there a way to play the game with the DLCs being on steam?

On another thread someone mentioned checking to see what steam account was linked to my EA account, it's my husband's that is linked. Hopefully that information helps.

@puzzlezaddict  This worked! Thank you for all your help! Once I realized that I bought all the DLC in Steam, that made way more sense. So exciting! LOL
