Issues with PlantSim Event

Is the surrounding empty? Could you post a screenshot?

I'm having this same problem, both with not encountering PlantSims and placing the stump. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I know what is wrong. Are your sims by any chance living in the city that comes with the City Living expansion pack? Because mine are, and I had to travel to the original towns on the game to even find PlantSims. They wouldn't show up in the city at all. I'm guessing I will have to plant the tree in one of the original towns as well... Hopefully this works!

As there are no gardens there and it can't fit in a planter there is no way to have the tree in San Myshuno.

My sim was living in the city and I couldn't place the stump there because it grows into a huge tree. You need to place it somewhere outside where there's a lot of space. I didn't see any plantsims either until I went to a public garden area outside of the city. I can't remember which one it was but it's where the Garden Gnome's group meets. There were a lot of plant sims there during the day

While I did not have this problem, I just wanted to confirm that I have not seen a PlantSim in the City of MyShuno (probably due to the fact you cant grow trees there anyway.  I did find plenty of them walking right in front of my house that was placed in that extra neighborhood that comes empty and  is called Newcrest.  I also saw them with my city family when they traveled to that giant park in the town of Oasis Springs that came with the base game.  Some Plant Sims I had never seen before, but others were Sims that came with the Base Game, such as Carla Bergsen, Marcus Flex, and Moira Fryes.  I would hae your city family purchase a small lot in a regular neighborhood and plant your stump there.  If you don't have enough money for this just use a money cheat code like "Kaching", "Rosebud", or "Motherlode" and pretend uncle Henry went off to that Great Plumbob in the Sky and left them an inheritance! 🙂

I have a similar problem, I can see the plantsims, but the stump just doesn't get placed, no matter what. Place in world option wont work, me trying to place it wont work.. it just stays red and doesn't say why. Tried moving things around, open more space, but nothing helps. No lag or anything, just... nothing... Attaching 2 possible solutions for place i tried, none worked. Don't have any mods nor cc here. 

Tashinha, Your lot is pretty small, and the stump grows into a giant tree! 😮  It has to be big enough for a Sim to walk through it, similar to the tree in the town that came in the base game (not Oasis Springs -- the other town whose name I forget, but it is the one with the Goths and the Spencer-Kim-Lewis families!)  I would include a picture of my full grown magical bean stump tree, but I'm a Noob when it comes to things like that  & I don't know how to put pictures in my posts! 😳  LOL Either you can tell me how you did it, or someone else can post a picture.  Looking at your lot, I'm pretty sure you just don't have enough room for this tree! 😢

In the image with the narrow strip along the house there simply is not enough space.

In the other image there should be enough space. I can't see the upper floor but I would suspekt that that is what blocks it.

Also sometimes children/toddlers can leave toys lying around that can be hard to spot on the ground.

well, i left a space in the front for that, which is bigger than the stump by at least 2 squares on each side. i will have to move the entira househol then, because the area is pretty small... maybe second floor is occupying tree space?
