@GoddessCat72 Since Windows Defender is crashing, it's a good idea to run a couple of basic checks on your system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, open Settings > Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates. If anything installs, restart again when it's done.
For Windows Defender itself, either disable Controlled Folder Access or add exceptions for Origin.exe and TS4_x64.exe, as described here:

If that doesn't help, please go through the Task Manager's background processes list looking for any signs of another antivirus; it's also worth checking the list in the Startup tab. For example, many prebuilt computers come with one already installed, even if you never signed up for anything. A conflict between an antivirus and Defender would explain the crashes, and that antivirus might also block Sims 4.
Ok tried the last two things on that list that folder is already disabled and the one under it. looking into the last suggestion.
