Lagging Issues and endless loading screens again!

I’m getting really tired of this game to the point where I don’t ever want to play again.

Ever since the last game update my game takes forever to launch then the loading screens are like a hour of waiting and by the time I get to the game and click play the lag is so severe I can’t play. This brings me back to my old computer and why I had to stop playing sims. I now have a higher end gaming laptop as opposed to what I originally had. The sims community here helped me find my laptop. My game has run so smooth for as long as I can remember but it’s currently unplayable. I even removed the tiny bit of cc I have and single mod (just a playable pets one), I’ve cleared origin cache, repaired game, etc. nothing works. I’m at the end of my rope. And I feel like doing an uninstall is going to be a huge headache I have no time for right now and in the past I remember how it was the biggest waste of my time.

It’s really sad because I don’t have as much time as I used to so now the little time I do have I’m either having to do a sims update or a windows update. I’m suspecting it’s origin bc origin seems to be glitching out and sometimes I can’t sign in. The other day I clicked it and my whole screen went black while the origin window was small and stuck loading. It went back to normal but it was so weird. I sometimes regret having bought my games on origin…. Would’ve been better to get on steam maybe? Origin is just so glitchy lately I’m beginning to hate it.

but also the sims is such an expensive game and it’s basically falling apart. I’m at such a loss on whether I throw in the towel on this game or find an easier solution. All the solutions I just did took me hours over the course of 3 days.

Thank you! Yeah! I do regular backups anyways. I use an external drive. Is there other places I can keep a backup as well?

and I see. If needed I will look into it thank you! It’s so hard these days since I don’t have as much time to do things and my computer seems to really take it’s time sometimes!

@smilelikemiles  I personally think the best backup is an external drive that's not (usually) plugged into your computer.  So even if your computer were damaged, it wouldn't also damage the external.  But as a secondary backup, you could upload some data to a free cloud storage service, for example Google Drive or Dropbox.  Most services don't offer a lot of storage for free, but that should be enough for your most essential files.

And yeah, it can be hard to find the time to tinker with the computer, especially when you just want to spend your little free time playing.  If and when you're ready to do a deeper dive, and you have more questions, you know where to find me.
