Launching The Sims Without Steam?

Hi there. I've got a problem regarding launching the Sims 4 at all. My younger sister accidentally linked my EA account to her Steam account, not knowing that only one Steam account could be linked per lifetime. I unlinked it without much thought and then read further into this issue without any answers. I want to at least be able to launch and play the sims. I have spent too much money on DLC to create an entirely new account for the sims. Is there a way to launch it directly through the EA app without linking to steam, but if anyone has advice on what to do, I could DESPERATELY need it. Also... is there a number I can call to contact EA or The Sims directly?

Thanks.

  • @_krazy_2020  Normally, unlinking the EA and Steam accounts should be enough to revert your copy of Sims 4 to the EA App version, meaning you could then launch the game without Steam.  You might need to clear the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

You might also need to uninstall the game and reinstall it through the EA App.  If you try this, make a backup copy of the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts first.  This folder holds your saves and other user data, and while it shouldn't be deleted during the uninstall process, it's best to take precautions.

If you can't reinstall Sims 4 through the EA App, and you can't claim the game either, then you'll need to contact EA customer support to have the Steam version removed from your game library.  There's no phone number to call, unless you live in France or Germany, but live chat is available.  If you're not seeing the option, try this link:

Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.
