Loading screen "NOT RESPONDING" #cool

Ok, so I've been playing basically non-stop since release (because what is life) and didn't have an issue the last few days up until this morning. Everytime I try to play the game freezes on the (Plumbob) loading screen. I don't get any error codes, just that the game is not responding. I had a lovely, and honestly useless chat with customer support (for about an hour) and still nothing... Reinstalled, repaired, etc... Literally can't think of anything else to try. I am running as admin, my PC is UTD, firewall is not blocking, and I kind of wanna slam my head against the wall at this point. Anyone figure this out? ANY advise/tips are appreciated.

  • For it to stop freezing you have do uninstall Origin and re-install it, it happened to me with the Sims 3.

Have the same issue. Played for 13 hours straight yesterday without a hitch and now can't even get past the plumbob screen. No changes made to the PC's settings or programs since so seems totally random.

    I have tried:

Launching the game with Origin in 'offline' mode.

    Reinstalling Origin

Launching the game in windowed mode (running with the prompt "w -und)

    Launching the game as administrator

Launching the game in compatibility mode

    Repairing game (via Origin)

    Nothing has been successful.

    - Got it working on my own. No idea for how long though -

Dont know which thing it was so i'll just post everything I did:

Ran a MalwareBytes threat check (nothing found)

Ran a CCleaner registery check (minor things found and cleaned up)

Despite having uninstalled AVG some time ago it was still running in the background of my PC so i used ctrl, alt, del - task manager - processes - to end all avg processes (and finally deleted the damn files off my C drive)

    Restarted origin (as administrator)

Launched Sims 4 in windowed mode (also as administrator)

And now for some reason it's worked on this occasion. Who knows for how long.

Thank you! I've done most of this but I'm going to try all of this again today and see if I can get it to work. 😕mileyhappy: Hoping that it does!

Alright, so I've done everything listed above ^^^ and still nothing. Doesn't make much sense because I played the other day and it ran great. Gonna give it a little more time and see if I can find a solution. I hate to say it, but might end up getting a refund. 😕mileyfrustrated:
