As I suspect that it is just an issue of actions being canceled by the sim but with a delay before canceling.
For the second issue with the baby I would like to wait for crinricts input on this as I think its a new bug which has not been added to the list. Either that or im not sure which bug this would fall under in the list.
I hope you are still able to enjoy the sims while waiting for a patch!
