Looking for new laptop for Sims 4! Help!
Hi!
I'm currently looking for a new laptop for everyday use but also to play The Sims 4. I'm currently using my Macbook Air from 2013 as my work/study laptop and an old HP laptop for sims. Both laptops are starting to die so now I need something new. I'm having a hard time finding something since it's important for me that Sims 4 will work but I also don't want a gaming laptop since I will use it for studying/work as well.
My budget is around 700-800 euro (€) (I live in Finland) and looking for a laptop that's no bigger than 14".
I'm mainly going to use it for watching movies/Netflix and working with documents and such online, so for my everyday use pretty much everything will work. So only worried about slow loading times or really bad graphics in sims 4 (would like to play on at least medium settings and I have about a handful of packs but don't use any cc)
I've been looking at these:
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 R5/16/512 14" (Model: Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14AMN8 82XN004HMX)
Asus VivoBook S14 i5-12/16/512/OLED (Model: Asus VivoBook S 14 K3402)
Asus ExpertBook B5 14" i5-12/16/256 GB (Model: Asus 1974487)
I know the pages are in finnish but if translating it doesn't work I will happily post the specs in this thread, I just really need help.
Thanks in advance!
@sofwik94 I checked all three sites, and here are the best options I found:
All of them have high-resolution screens, higher than standard, which will make everything look more crisp and clear. The difference in resolutions among them may not be noticeable at this screen size, although higher is of course better. The second one has the brightest screen, and the third has a higher refresh rate, which would make daily use feel more smooth, although it may not help Sims 4 itself.
These laptops have the same or equivalent hardware and should therefore run Sims 4 about the same, plus or minus a few percentage points depending on how the manufacturers tuned the machines. That means medium to medium-high graphics settings at the native resolution, or high settings at a slightly lower resolution or if you don't install all the expansions. You can of course play with the settings to get something you like in terms of both graphics and performance.
If you don't like any of these three for one reason or another, let me know why, and I'll look for better options. And if you have more questions in general, please feel free to ask.
