Lost Residental Lots

I loaded up my Sims 4 game and several lots had disappeared, all residential lots I had built myself. I thought maybe it was an old save somehow, but some sims I had just built 1 or 2 days ago were in the game so I know that's not the issue. Lots are just missing entirely, and the sims that lived there are moved into a lot they had previously lived (but again, I stress that the sims themselves are up to date and so are the dates on my saves so I don't understand what has happened here.)

Also, all of the empty houses I had across all my lands were filled up with sims and townies I had in the 'other households' section, and I DO NOT have 'fill empty lots' checked, so I don't know how or why they are there. I tried recovering a save from two days ago and the issue remains. I also tried deleting extra saves ending in ver0, ver2, ver3, etc and this did nothing as well.

I tried deleting all my save files and my tray files, and pasting in copies I had made 2 days ago before this issue occurred and this also did nothing.

Please help, I've lost hours upon hours of work that I put into those lots and it's stressing me out so much.

  • @raykiyowada Have you ever had Mods or CC in your game? If you have please try moving your Mods folder to your desktop and delete the localthumbnailcache.package file, plus delete any folders with the word 'cache' in the name in your 'The Sims 4' folder. If It fixes the situation you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see if one was causing the issue. Please also check for updates for all Mods/CC.

Also, it could be possible that a game with your sims you just made is still a duplicate game if you happened to save a game or copy of one with this new household open... it would still be good to look in your 'load game' area in the main menu, just to be positive. Please check/open each of the recent ones to be sure.

Can you please check over the suggestions that Crin made on the first page of this report, then check the last several pages on the report for recent additions and see if this is similar to what you are seeing? https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Houses-Lots-disappear/td-p/4620279
