Lost save and progress

Hello, I just finished reading up on this thread hoping to find some answers but sadly, didn't really find any. I'm not really sure what I did or what happened, but I exited the game, updated it and repaired it, and came back to find that all my game progress from the 23rd of October to this day (3rd of November) completely gone. I went into the 'saves' files and found that my last save was the 23rd. One suggestion in the thread mentioned above was to search for "slot_", which I did in the taskbar (Windows 10), and found a file dated on the 28th, but can't locate it in the 'saves' folder even though that's where the path leads to. Can't open it either, and I'm too afraid to relaunch the game or tamper with anything in case everything else goes wrong - somehow.

I'm not sure what to do, but I would appreciate any help!! I'm usually very careful with saves but I'll be even more diligent after this issue...haha. T_T

    @pocketfIower If you were using the OneDrive folder, I'm assuming OneDrive was caching the files to sync. Possibly when repaired the game your saves went to the default folder in default user documents folder. OneDrive uses a system similar to using a symbolic link in that a hidden file is used to redirect the operating system. As the game does not know about this redirection because this is an operating system function and the application can sometimes fail to work correctly. Glad you a new game works as that shows that the game is working.  HTH
