Low FPS drop to 14

@Diablolend  Have you tried playing while your computer is completely offline?  I realize this isn't a long-term solution, but it is an issue with a couple known fixes, so it's worth trying.  You can put Origin in offline mode and then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

Is there any pattern to when the fps drops after you've been playing for a while?  For example, does it only happen when you load a new lot, or go into Build/Buy?

One other thing you can try is setting Windows to run Sims 4 in high-performance mode.  I don't actually know if the setting is in exactly the same location as in Windows 10, but there it's under Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings; you'd click Browse and add TS4_x64.exe, then click Options and choose the high-performance setting.

@EA_Leeuw  If a computer that should be able to run Sims 4 on ultra settings needs laptop mode to run the game properly, there's something else seriously wrong.

@puzzlezaddict, oh I know, but there is no harm in trying, right? 🙂

@EA_Leeuw  It won't cause any damage, sure.  Playing in laptop mode isn't a fix or even a workaround given how low-quality the graphics would be, and unnecessarily so on the OP's hardware.  I guess you could learn a little about the system from the game's behavior in laptop mode, but in that case, you could also learn just as much and possibly a lot more, depending on the underlying issue, from trying ultra settings.  So I'm not sure there's any point.

About six hours I played with this laptop mode. What can I say, the problem has been solved. Maybe.

Still, this is not a panacea. Visually, the game began to look worse. I would appreciate it if you would let the developers know about this issue.

Yeah, I heard about the complete Internet shutdown. And even tried solution from reddit. I used special programs to prevent applications from using the Internet. It didn't work at all either.

The pattern is simple to me. I received 14 fps when I loaded into any lot. Either immediately or in 5-30 minutes. This happens by accident, as I found out.

But what I can note separately. The game gets stuck in 14 fps everywhere. Even in the menu of the game, when I already unloaded from the save. Then I realized that this mistake is somewhere deeper than in conservation or where else.

High perfomance mode i enabled when was installed windows. 🙂

@Diablolend  Does the game stick at exactly 14 fps, as in, not 13 or 15, and no spikes or drops?  That would be extremely unusual even within the category of fps drops.  And it's not a game bug either—we'd see a lot more reports—so there's nothing the developers would be able to do to help you specifically.  It's possible this is related to the other low fps issues, but those are already being investigated.

And just for clarification, did you actually try playing with no internet connection, or did you just run the program you mentioned?  If it's the latter, please try playing with no connection at all, just to be thorough.  It's always possible that the program didn't prevent the issue, and this is an easy test.

Again though, your hardware should be able to run Sims 4 in its current on ultra graphics settings, and other people with similar components do so.  I'd be interested to see the results of some hardware monitoring.  Please download hwinfo from here:

You don't need to install anything if you don't want to; just choose the Portable version, unzip it, and launch it from Downloads or wherever you want.  (If you would like to install, be sure to click the button for hwinfo itself, not for lansweeper.)  Restart your computer, and don't open any other apps.  Launch hwinfo, choose "sensors only," and click the icon that's a sheet of paper with a + sign to start logging.  Save the file to your desktop for easy access later.

Wait five minutes, then launch Sims 4 and play until fps tanks, plus at least five minutes after that.  I'm pretty sure I'll see the difference in the log, but please let me know how long hwinfo was running before the fps dropped anyway.  You can upload the log to a third-party free filehosting site and link it here.  Please leave it in .csv format, or if you use OneDrive to share, please compress it in .zip format instead.

@Diablolend, good to hear that running the game in Laptop mode seems to partially solve the issue. 😉

Of course is this not a permanent fix, judging by the hardware of your system, but it is at least a 'step in de right direction'.

Can you maybe check if the game is properly using the Nvidia graphics card? If you're not sure, you can manually force this by following these steps (make sure that Laptop mode is off in the game though): Go into your Nvidia Control Panel 3D settings, and in the program tab, select the game executable in the dropdown menu (You may need to add it if it's not there) and under power management, set it to prefer maximum performance and if available, select your Nvidia GPU.

Or if you would like to force this in a different way, you can follow these steps and replace Chrome with The Sims 4: here.

Yes, I tried in every way. Turned internet off completely. The problem was also temporarily solved, but it was worth going in after some time, the problem immediately returning.

I don't like to throw around such files, but maybe it will help. "Sensor Only" I could not manage to put, so everything is in one pile.
