[Mac] Sims 4 — Clicking Install Does Nothing

Using a Mac
Waited for your game
Paid for your game
Downloaded Origin
Downloaded Sims 4
found my product key (finally for some reason I couldn't right click for weeks, nothing would come up)
BUT
*Clicking install glitches quickly to 100% then install button stays orange
And  n o t h i n g  happens*

Please help & thanks in advance 🙂

I've downloaded several times, have restarted my system, been trying to get this to work for a month now, and soon, would like my money back (way to make it impossible for people to call you by the way.)

Bought your game that I loved since the 90s been waiting for some of the updates they've made — like building and create a sim wonders — my whole life... I've raved about EA my whole life, defending in arguments.. thanks for breaking my heart, not to mention the millions of poor kids who struggled with this. I hear buying the discs wasn't that great either. </3 Way to go guys. BUT THANK YOU to whatever employees you have that are able to stay sane while helping people with these issues online.

  • Try reinstalling Origin. It may help whatever issues you are having. You say you're on a Mac, but you do not provide details about what kind of Mac.

    - Make sure you are in Finder then click Go in the menu bar. Hold down Alt and the hidden Library folder will show up. Click on the Library folder.
    - You now need to check in the following folders for any Origin files and folders:
    Application Support (Origin)
    Caches (Origin, com.ea.Origin)
    Preferences (com.ea.Origin.plist)
    Saved Application state (com.ea.Origin.savedState)

Open a Finder window and click on your Macintosh HD in the left hand section under Devices (if it's not there click on Finder in the menu bar then Preferences. Select the Sidebar tab and make sure Hard Disks is ticked under Devices), open Library, then delete the Origin folder.

After you've trashed them, empty the trash then restart your Mac. Then redownload and reinstall Origin.

Also try repairing your permissions. You can find this:

Open Disk Utility and Repair Permissions - Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

These are instructions to uninstall and then reinstall Origin. Please advise on what happens so we may further assist you if necessary.

    Thanks for the reply

Should've expected an answer from a user not EA. Had to post the frustration in case anyone from EA does see it (not that it'd do anything.) They should be sending free games that work EASILY to everybody this year to make up for this. Even coupons lol.

I'm just on a regular desktop iMac not a pro or air or anything. Sorry for being vague.

I really didn't want to have to download Origin again, but I figured that'd be next. *sigh* Thanks.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd still love to hear them, in case reinstalling Origin again doesn't work.

A little scared about repairing these permissions.
Years ago my iMac almost died totally and had to spend a lot of time in my console and disk utility fixing it... It still states my one hard drive is failing but is still working haha hopefully nothing messes up while i do this, and it doesn't remember it's dying.
Ahh it seems to be repeatedly repairing something to do with my photobooth lol.

Ok I give up. A reinstall of Origin it is. I've already done this twice ugh.

Thank you for being so detailed as to where to make sure my Origin files are gone <3 And for replying so quick!
