@angelllliica wrote:Okay @Tremayne4260 the Mom here - as you are an EA operative, can you please advise how we can now take this holiday add on OFF my daughters origin account? as it is obvious from other comments on the net that once this free add on is downloaded to your origin account, everyone seems to experience the same problems as my daughter - that is, it either becomes so slow you can no longer play it, or it simply does not play at all. Either way, the whole of the Sims 4 subsequently becomes unplayable - which is UNACCEPTABLE.
Therefore, please advise us how to safely remove this USELESS add on, and return to playing what we have actually paid £59.98 for.
Thank you, Angeliiiicas Mom.
This is a peer to peer website. The users here do not represent EA officially. The website gives titles to users that assist others or comment often, and 'Operative' is one of them. If you wish to contact official EA support, you will have to contact them on their help website: help.ea.com/uk/contact-us/new/
As someone who's added this free content to my game as well, I have not experienced this issue, and many of my friends can also play with out any kind negative effects to the game experience. Some users experience it, others do not. Because of this, users on this site do their best to troubleshoot the issue until the content works as intended. We know the game works and we know the additional content works. The trick is finding out why it doesn't work for certain users and either adjusting the computer to better suit the needs of the game, or finding the bug in the game, reporting it, and having EA fix it.
I understand that you want to remove your Holiday Celebration Pack rather than go this route. I've been doing a little bit of research on it, and I believe I've found a way to do so. I've tested it on my PC and my Mac to make sure it works:
1. Open Applications
2. Control+Click on The Sims 4 application and click "Show Package Contents"
3. Open the Contents folder
4. Click and drag the FP01 folder to the Trash
FP01 = Holiday Celebration Pack
EP01 = Get to Work Expansion Pack
GP01 = Outdoor Retreat Game Pack
(I'm assuming that FP is 'free pack,' since EP and GP means 'expansion' and 'game' respectively.)
Your content should now be removed from the game. Origin will give you the option to install the Holiday Celebration Pack again. You can also try Repairing the game in Origin again to make sure that it mends itself after having a folder suddenly removed from it.
