I think this is somehow related to another bug where sims mates with any other random sim despite their gender preferences etc.
I now have 2 sims that have A CHILD together, but they've never met. I've merged them to one family - the least I could do for them 🙂 Or maybe it's the "Sims 4" version of artificial insemination :D
