Mermaid no tail, no hydration trait, but the tail appears in create a sim.
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The sims4
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? i have all of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? You need a human and a mermaid and they need to make a baby mermaid and then it will happen, maybe it is because the father was human
What happens when the bug occurs? The mermaid daughter is a mermaid, but without a tail showing or the hydration trait. However in create-a-sim it shows that she does have a mermaid tail, but it does not appear to show up when she is swimming? My mermaid mom is working perfectly fine, no bugs or anything. It is only the daughter, and I tried everything to fix it. Basically the daughter says she is a mermaid, and can do the mermaid abilities, but the tail does not appear and she does not have the hydration trait.
What do you expect to see? Mermaid daughter of a human and mermaid, the daughter's tail and hydration trait are not working. However, it shows the tail in create-a-sim.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
All my mods are update and working, and I always go through my mods and cc to make sure nothing is broken. That's why the mermaid mother is working perfectly fine. If it was a cc problem it would be all mermaids. Here is a picture of the mom, and the other picture is the daughter. The father is a human.
- @Sasha3101998 Yup, that Sim definitely has some mixed info which explains why she shows the way she does.
Mod issues have nothing to do with how experienced you are with mods. If the mod has a bug .. you will get a problem.
I can see two causes for this:
- There's now human/mermaid hybrids being created
- A mod you use has a problem and it's causing the issue for the traits not being properly being assigned.
The easiest thing to do would be to remove the hidden mermaid trait from the Sim which should make them a full human. You can then make her a mermaid again with kelp.
If you have a backup from before the baby was born, it would be easiest to test without any mods at all to see if it gets born the same way.
