i am getting the message: the save game you are attempting to load was saved with a newer
version of the sims4 than is currently installed. please update in order to safely load
this game.
i have right clicked the game in origin and did an update and repair but that has not
fixed the problem.
any ideas??/

Can you please navigate to your game's bin install location? This is usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin".
Look at TS4.exe
Under "Date Modified" it should say "12/12/2014" is this correct?
Sorry, I meant to include TS4.exe into that. What does TS4.exe say?
If the modified date looks roughly the same as the rest then it's likely game save corruption.

Did you also try the backups by removing the ver0 to ver4 ?
Did you remove the slot0000001.save completely ? It will recreate for each save game and you should remove it each time you test the next save.
i've played this game for a total of 257 hours now over about a year and 3/4. All of a sudden yesterday i pressed play and it just wouldn't load. I've been trying for 2 days now and nothing works. I'm in the right mind to complain to EA(/Origin)😢
