Missing DLL repair aftermath

I got a new laptop and had a bit of trouble with downloading The Sims 4 into it, but I got some help online and got to do it. My problem now is the aftermath, I immediately went to change the settings to my liking and it kept crashing when I changed the audio settings from low to medium. It only crashes when I do that, just that. Again and again. Is there a solution out there? I know I can just suck it up, but yeah - knowing a solution would be great
