Missing saves and library files

Hello,

I got this message. My fiance helped me out by closing the game down, updated my laptop's drivers, and then tried to relaunch into the game, but now all of my games are gone. I have no files in my gallery and there is no way for me to get them back. I have the saves in my files on my laptop, but they will not open in the game. I really need help because I have 345 hours of gameplay on my 100-baby challenge that I am doing for my youtube channel

@MinervaMayor  The saves need to be in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves.  So take that Sims 4 folder listed above, the one with all your saves, and drag it out of Program Files and onto your desktop.  This folder should not be in Program Files anyway.

Once it's on your desktop, open the Sims 4 folder, right-click on the saves folder, and select Copy.  Now open a File Explorer window, then Documents, then Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4.  Find the saves folder and drag it to the trash.  Now, still in the Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts, right-click somewhere in the blank space and select Paste.  Your old saves folder will now be in the proper place.

  • Hi all,

I updated my game and my laptop, and my save files on Sims are all gone. They are no longer in my library, even in the gallery. I have no idea what to do! I was doing a challenge for my youtube channel and now I have nothing to play. Please help!

Were you forced to download the Legacy version? If so they are in the old Sims 4 folder and you can copy them from there to the Legacy folder. In addition to saves You also need the content of the tray folder.

  • @MinervaMayor  I've split your post into its own thread, since your issue is different now.  (I also changed the title of the thread.)

Please open a File Explorer window, navigate to the Saves folder where you currently see your saves, and paste the file path into a post.  The file path shows directly above the list of files.

    Hi,

Thank you for doing that for me!

I am not sure exactly what you mean by copying the files to a post. Do you mean copy the file path to this post here?

These are all of my files that I have. I am not sure if this is what you meant
