Mods not Supported?

Hello,

I am not understanding why i was told on the phone by EA, that they dont support Mods, I am like then why is there a Mod folder in the game? and is it our fault that people such as players make better hair and clothes and such then whats in the game itself? that is why i look for CC, better hair and clothes and such. and 3rd when are the Expansions ever comming out ? we need more room ect.

  • The game is definitely designed with the ability to add custom content and mods (that's a huge part of The Sims appeal!), but any changes you make to the game that were not created by EA directly cannot be supported by EA.

If you run into an issue with your game and you have custom content installed, EA support will always ask for you to remove the content before trying any troubleshooting steps because they have no idea what that content might have done to your game.

It's always safe practice to remove your mods before an update, as well. When the game has an update, it does not accomodate all the extra content users have made for the game, only EA content. It's very easy to corrupt your game this way!

EA is by no means telling that they cannot help you if you like custom content and mods. They are just telling you that they can help you with their product, not the products of others. You wouldn't contact your cable company if your tv doesn't turn on, you'd contact the manufacturer of the tv!

That is true, but they also say my case for my trouble with the profile page is resolved, and it is not resolved by any means, it still takes me 5 to 10 mins to load my profile page, i was told to make another account on my dang computer for this game, and im so not understanding what doing that has to do with profile page taking forever to load, and im not sure how to even make one, i understand games, not my computer, with my luck i would mess something up, so i guess ill not use profile page, until its fixed, oh well, thanx for the info as well.
